Standing Rock

The Tribal Tourism office welcomes you with a hearty handshake to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Tourism site. A visit to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is an exciting and enlightening experience, the combination of natural beauty and authentic culture of the Lakota and Dakota people.

Standing Rock is a premier place to visit, with fine dining at the well known Hunters Club and state of the art lodging at Prairie Knights and Grand River. The buffet at the Feast of the Rock located at Prairie Knights Casino and
River's Edge at Grand River Casino will leave you full and smiling.

We invite you to share a little part of our unique world that includes such great leaders as Sitting Bull, Gall and Sakakawea. The stories of the
mountain men who came here like Jim Bridger, Jedediah Smith, Hugh Glass, Manuel Lisa and Pierre Choteau. The famous people to come to Standing Rock have included Father Desmet, Moustache Maude, Mrs. Van Solen, J. R. Casselbury and Fred Grant (the brother and son of Ulysses S. Grant) Buffalo Bill and so many others.

Come and listen to our stories of Lewis and Clark who traveled on our rivers, the death of Sakakawea at Fort Manuel Lisa, the victory at Little Big Horn, Major James McLaughlin and the death of Sitting Bull, the reservation days and who we are today.

Remember as you visit our homelands to be respectful of our laws and cultural ways.

In Spirit,
LaDonna Brave Bull Allard
